Majayjay Nights

I am sitting in my room in the middle of the jungle/rain forest in Majayjay - in the Philippines. It has been as most trips are - amazing! We have had the opportunity to work with people who desire to do all God has for them in spite of their circumstances. The best part of what I do is seeing that the message of the Gospel never changes - but the message of the Gospel always changes people! It is a humbling opportunity! We have a guy with us who has never been on a mission trip before and it is so much fun to see him soaking it all in. He is excited about every thing that happens - well maybe not the crowded airplane. It encourages me to be more excited as I watch him. Let me remind you of what God put in my heart for 2009!

The opportunities before us are limitless - we are the only limitation!

Lately

Well it has been a few days since my last blog. I have been thinking of what has been happening in the last few weeks.

-My fantasy football team - lost!
-The team I picked to win the BCS Championship - lost! (Boomer Sooner!)
-The team I picked to win the Superbowl - lost! (Actually the team I picked wasn't even in the Superbowl)
-I did finally pass the final on the online real estate course I have been taking. I actually thought that an online class would be much easier than a live one. With all of the scheduling hassles and travel - I can log on whenever I want and get it done - quickly! Well that may be easier said than done. The travel and schedule part is great - but I feel like I probably would have more information if I could have set in a classroom and asked a few questions. There is also a great temptation to not take any kind of notes when it is on your screen right in front of you.

It is amazing how much emphasis we put on what has happened in the past. If I were depending on the past I would definitely give up on football. But here I am anxious for football season, I know OU will win the National Championship, I hope to do better in Fantasy Football and as for Dallas - all I can say is: T O - - Superbowl!!

I think Paul said it best in Philippians 3:13-14 & 13 Brothers, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, 14 I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus. NIV

Sometimes it feels like it is easier to just sit down and quit trying so hard. Moving forward is hard work - Paul said he was straining. But we cannot afford to let the past rob us from our future! The greatest things are ahead!!

I could remember the difficulties of the online real estate class and the final test - but I know that I am going to conquer that next test!!

I am moving forward!
